Integrity & fairness

Trust shouldn't rely on promises. It should rely on proof.

The most exciting promotions are also the ones under the most scrutiny. That's why every campaign we architect is designed to be independently verifiable — from the sealed code inside a vault to the official scoreline of a match. Fairness is engineered in, not audited on afterwards.

Why it matters

The biggest risk in a big promotion isn't the prize. It's the doubt afterwards.

Once a headline promotion goes live, participants, press and internal stakeholders start asking the same question: 'How do we know the outcome is real?' A campaign that can't answer that question at speed is a reputational liability, regardless of how well it performed commercially.

For the brand

A verifiable promotion is defensible on day one and on day one hundred — protecting the brand equity the campaign was designed to build.

For the participant

People engage more readily with a mechanic they can inspect. Transparent design lifts participation, not just perception.

For the regulator

Sealed records, external reference points and filmed handovers make the mechanic easy to walk through with any authority that asks.

Every promotion includes

Six controls we apply to every campaign.

Regardless of the mechanic, the sector or the prize value, these are the non-negotiables that make a 5th Consulting campaign a verifiable one.

Transparent rules

Every mechanic is written so participants and clients read exactly the same, unambiguous promotion.

Independent verification

Outcomes can be checked against evidence held outside our four walls — sealed records, notarised codes, or official third-party sources.

Secure prize protection

Prize instruments, winning codes and vault keys are sealed, logged and physically protected before the campaign goes live.

Fixed financial risk

The prize is paid from coverage, not from your P&L. You commit one fixed fee — no matter who wins, or how many.

Fair winner selection

Winners are determined by the mechanic and the evidence. Never by discretion, never by a decision after the fact.

Professional controls

Chain-of-custody, filmed handovers and documented approvals apply across the full campaign lifecycle.

Verification timeline

Verification is a campaign phase — not a paragraph in the terms.

  1. 01

    Before launch

The mechanic is designed, the winning outcome or reference source is defined, and the sealed record is created and stored.

  2. 02

    During the campaign

Participation is logged, prize instruments remain sealed, and no one on the client or agency side can alter the outcome.

  3. 03

    At settlement

The sealed record is opened, or the external result is retrieved — and matched against participant entries in front of the parties who need to see it.

  4. 04

    After the campaign

Winners are paid from cover. Documentation is retained so the campaign can be reviewed by auditors, regulators, media or partners if required.

How different mechanics are verified

Each mechanic has its own proof.

The verification method is chosen to match the mechanic. Some rely on sealed pre-commitment, others on external events nobody involved can influence.

E-VAULT™ Crack-the-Code

The winning combination is generated, sealed and recorded before the campaign begins. Attempts are logged. When the vault opens — or the campaign ends — the sealed record can be independently verified against the live attempts.

Lucky Envelope

Envelopes are sealed and their allocations independently recorded. At the end of the promotion the remaining envelopes are opened publicly, so the complete prize distribution is demonstrable — not just the winners, but everything that could have been won.

Prediction promotions

Winning predictions are documented and sealed before launch. When the event concludes, entries are matched against an independently verified official result — a match score, a race position, an index closing price.

Sports campaigns

Outcomes rest on official competition results — a scorecard, a final table, a referee decision — beyond anyone's control, including ours. The organiser publishes the result; we settle to it.

Weather promotions

Results are settled against official measurements from recognised meteorological authorities at named stations. Both the source and the settlement window are defined in the terms before the campaign opens.

Hole-in-One & feats of skill

The challenge is witnessed and filmed in real time under agreed conditions. Prize coverage is confirmed in writing before the shot is taken — the winner walks away with the prize, funded by cover, not by the venue.

Our principle

"Every promotion we design is engineered so the outcome can be verified by anyone who needs to check it — including the people who didn't win."

That principle sits alongside behavioural marketing, creativity and financial risk management as one of the four things 5th Consulting refuses to compromise on.
